Law and Order SVU Star Mariska Hargitay
Emmy Award winning star of Law and Order SVU, actress Mariska Hargitay stopped by “Ellen” today.

Appearing as stunning as ever in a beautiful brown dress draped over her bronzed skin, the beautiful actress received a standing ovation from the audience.
“Has it really been 13 years since you’ve been on that show?” said Ellen.
“It’s so crazy but I’m so happy and still having fun,” said Hargitay.
The question that Law and Order SVU fans want to know is where exactly do they come up with their story ideas?
“It’s a combination,” said Hargitay. “Sometimes it’s ripped from the headlines. This year we sort of did stories before they came out of the press which was kind of crazy the show was truly clairvoyant in a scary way,” she said. “And then sometimes it’s a mixing of two stories.”
The main topic on Mariska’s mind were her three beautiful children that she and her husband adopted. Last year they added two new babies to their family.
Mariska has her hands full with a 5-year-old,1-year-old, and a 9-month old. As pictures appeared of her children on the big screen behind her and Ellen the audience cooed over the babies. “If that doesn’t make you happy I don’t know what does,” said proud mother Hargitay.
Having two babies so close in age, naturally Ellen wondered how that happened.
Hargitay and her husband talked about adopting again in another year but then they received an offer they couldn’t refuse. “We got a call out of nowhere from our lawyer saying we have this amazing little boy,” said Hargitay.
“It was just one of those things that we were not expecting at all and my husband and I looked at each other and have never been more sure of about anything. I knew it was just right,” she said.
“This year has been a year of true blessings,” said Hargitay regarding her children.
Something that most fans of SVU may not know is that Hargitay started out as a comedic actress. Ellen kept commenting on how funny Mariska Hargitay really can be.
She was actually on Ellen’s sitcom. Ellen made it clear that she would be a great host for Saturday Night Live. “Ice he started going you should do SNL you should do SNL,” said Hargitay reluctantly.
Speaking of comical characters, her new love interest in SVU is Harry Connick Jr. “It’s big fun with Harry. Makes me laugh gets me in trouble,” said Hargitay.
According to Hargitay their families have become close and went to Mardi Gras together. “He’s so funny it’s amazing,” said Hargitay.
